The Association holds a Convention for its members every two years, providing an opportunity for members to meet, share ideas and enter their models in competitions.
Recently, conventions have been held at Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire, at Enkhuizen in Holland, at Hartlepool, in Bristol, Portsmouth, Windermere, Gloucester, Barnstaple, Buckler’s Hard in Hampshire, Chatham Historic Dockyard, and Great Yarmouth venue for the 2018 Convention. There are several different competition categories for members' models: In 2018 there were a number of entries featuring models of the Lydia Eva, the last surviving steam drifter in the UK ( pictured, right ).
Our next Convention was to have been held on the weekend of September 12th an 13th 2020 at Greenwich in London but due to the Covid virus has been cancelled.
We are hoping to re-convene in September 2022 at the same venue.
The Novotel Greenwich is just ten minutes walk from the World Heritage site - the fully restored Cutty Sark and the prestigious National Maritime Museum.
Join our Association and maybe we'll see you there !!
